Breeders Cup 2011

Silverheels, after his poor effort at Maisons-Laffitte looks like he may have had an excuse, otherthan the ground, Christophe (jockey) reported he did not feel right and pulled him up. It was discovered he had an infection in his leg which had to have antibiotics. He has shown to be normally reliable and it was way out of character for him to run like that.

Don Libre ran well enough, he should do better at Kempton next week in a similar race over 1 mile. We have eight still in training to run on the All Weather.

Circumvent may contest the Listed race over 1m2f at Lingfield on Saturday. The horse has never been better and he has had a bad time with draws and ground etc this year and it remains to be seen if he handles the All Weather surface. Their are possible races at Deauville, Cagnes,St Moritz for him.

Charles Egerton gave a Breeders Cup Party with a good dinner and good wine. The european horses did very well and the prize money was great but for me it was boring racing and the horses did not run to form. Where were the great trainers? If you were a punter in the yard you would have needed a pin to get a winner, not worth losing sleep over.
Even Myleene would not have minded missing it!
