Big price winners are always a nice surprise and Pinch of Posh was no exception. She just made it home by a head at HQ but thoroughly deserved the win, coming with a run in the final 2f. It’s also fantastic for the owner/breeders, the Bryces. There may even be a bit of improvement to come as well.
Flashbang’s draw didn’t help her at Lingfield, and the pace wasn’t quick enough. She has the potential, but needs everything to fall into place. Circumvent is so hard to place, but ran with credit over a trip short of his best. He is class act, but it’s difficult to know where to send him.
This week, we have a fair few decent chances. Rimth is going back to Newbury, the scene of her runaway win in a Group 3 at the start of the season. She ran well at Goodwood, and we think she was beaten by the draw rather than other horses. She should be right up there come the finish.
Swindy likes Kempton, and having worked well on Saturday, should run well. Serial Sinner will appreciate firm quick ground, but might take to All Weather. Daring Damsel is a lovely filly, but will need a bit of time before she really gets going. The same is true for Clianthus, whose introduction at Salisbury will be educational for both horse and connections.
Moynahan should go very well at Goodwood, a course which he seems to exclusively act on. Humungosaur should come on bundles for his first run at Ascot and we expect him to go close.
