Quiet week

The yearlings are doing well with their education, they are contiuning to use the stalls every day and are going upsides.

Gem Of Wizdom runs next Wednesday at Kempton, she worked well this morning and will be tried over 6f to start her off.

We wish everybody a very succesful & happy New Year, all the best for 2012!

Merry Christmas!

Our only runner last week ran well below par, possibly because of his draw. He was forced wide off what appeared to be a moderate pace, in which they quickened up from the bend and when he tried to get involved he got badly bumped. He is fine and a possible for the Winter Derby at Lingfield in March.

After starting with several runners on the All Weather we are down to two. Gem Of Wizdom will be running in the New Year, she seems to show speed but she is not a world beater. Witchy Moments who goes quite well should be out in the middle of January.

I am off for a short holiday in January and the running of the yard will be taken over by Oliver, Alex and the very competent staff.

Therese O'Neil, our second head lass has taken over from Tony Bradley who has retired. We wish him well and he is a lose to us and racing.

A few runners this week..

Circumvent runs in the Listed race at Lingfield on Saturday, we booked Tom Queally to ride but he has got off at the last minute. He is in exceptionally good form, if he gets the run of the race he should be very close.

Serial Sinner runs tomorrow in the 7.00pm Handicap at Kempton. She has a chance but we find her rather unreliable. She has a good draw and we have fitted cheek pieces to hopefully make her more competitive.

It is very quiet here at the moment, the good news is that the yearlings seem to go well, are sensible and a sound bunch.

Overpowered's brother has developed into a really nice horse and Overpowered was shaping up to be our best two year old last year. There is a quarter share available for £9,500, he can be seen on our horses for sale page.

Circumvent to miss Deauville for Lingfield prize!

Circumvent is missing Deauville and going for the Listed 1m2f race at Lingfield on 17th December. He remains in good form. We still have a few to run on the All Weather, Serial Sinner runs on Wednesday 7th at Kempton, we are trying a tongue strap for the first time.

The yearlings are cantering, they look a pleasing bunch, we have bought mainly two year old types this year.

The Saints & Sinners was a great Christmas lunch. Racing seemed to have taken over from show business this year. Charlie Brooks was Chairman and Harry Herbert & Mark Prescott both spoke very well and I have never seen so many people in fits of laughter as when Mark was speaking on the simple subject of him, his parents and their dog! His timing and presenting were better than anything at the Apollo, he is a genius in this field!

Congratulations on Newbury getting Racecourse of the year, would not be my choice, above York or Ascot anyway.
